2015-16: Lee played in 22 rounds during his freshman season, finishing with a scoring average of 76.4 in eight events. He fired his best round of 71 three times and was named to the All-Tournament team during 2016 SAC Championship. 

High School: Lee was a standout golfer at Morningside Academy. In 2015, he placed second at the Golfweek Junior Tour at Innisbrook, firing rounds of 74 and 75. He also placed sixth at The Junior Honda Classic with rounds of 72 and 81.
