Bundy Captures Individual Title, Cobras Claim Third at SAC Men’s Golf Championship

ETOWAH, N.C. – Junior Will Bundy fired a final round 73 (+1) to finish with a tournament score of 217 and claim the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship individual title. Bundy, who teed off at 9:06 a.m. had to wait over an hour to find out that his final round score was good enough to capture the top prize by just a mere stroke.

As a team, the Cobras fired a final round score of 294 to move into third place. Wanjoo Lee, who finished in a tie for seventh, was named to the All-Tournament second team thanks to a final round score of 72 (E). He finished with a tournament score of 220. Jonathan Sundstrom also signed off on a final round 72 (E), leaving him in a tie for 30th individually with a three-round score of 227. Niclas Heino carded a final round 77 to finish with a tournament score of 233, while Ethan Cairns finished with a final round 85, leaving him with a three-day score of 238.

Lincoln Memorial took home the team title, firing a final round score of 286 (-2) to finish with a team score of 879 and win the tournament by three strokes over Carson-Newman.

The Navy and Gold will wait to see if they qualify for the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Tournament, which begins on Monday (May 2).
