Cobras Conclude Opening Day of Bearcat Golf Classic

GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Coker College men's golf team is in 14th place after the opening 36-holes of the Bearcat Golf Classic hosted by Lander University. The Cobras fired rounds of 305 and 300 on Monday (Mar. 28). 

Wanjoo Lee led the way for the Navy and Gold. After an opening round of 78, the freshman rebounded with an afternoon round of 71 for a 149 two-round score. Jonathan Sundstrom, Ethan Cairns and Will Bundy carded 36-hole scores of 151, 152 and 153. Sundstrom signed off on rounds of 73 and 78, Cairns finished with rounds of 77 and 75 and Bundy carded rounds of 77 and 76. John Duke rounded things out for the Cobras, with rounds of 78 and 81 for a 159 two-round total.

Young Harris is atop the team leaderboard. They shot rounds of 283 and 288 for a 571 day-one score. Tyler Stone of Wingate University is the individual-overnight leader after shooting rounds of 68 and 72.

Round three will begin Tuesday (Mar. 29) morning at the Greenwood Country Club. The Cobras will tee of on hole number 10 beginning at 9:15 a.m.
