Coker In Contention Going Into Final Round at State Farm Intercollegiate

TAZEWELL, TENN. – The Coker College men's golf team shot a team score of 579 on day one of the State Farm Intercollegiate, leaving them in fifth place going into the final 18 holes. The Cobras opened with a morning score of 291, and then posted an afternoon score of 288.

Will Bundy continued his stellar play with rounds of 70 and 71, leading to a 36-hole score of 141 and a sixth place spot on the individual leaderboard. The duo of Jonathan Sundstrom and Niclas Heino are tied for 10th after posting a two-round total of 144. Sundstrom signed off on rounds of 73 and 71, while Heino rebounded after a morning 75 with a 69 in the afternoon round. Blake Baysden fired rounds of 73 and 77, to post a 150 tournament score through two rounds. Wanjoo Lee rounded out the Coker traveling five with a day one total of 155. He shot rounds of 77 and 78.

Lincoln Memorial University is atop the team leaderboard. They posted a 36-hole score of 570. Brad Hawkins of Tusculum College is the overnight leader. He shot rounds of 66 and 67 on day one.

The Cobras will tee off on holes four, five, six and seven tomorrow morning (Oct. 13) at 8:30 a.m.
