Coker Men’s Track and Field No. 15 In Southeast Regional Ranking

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's track and field team is ranked No. 15 in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Regional rankings. This is the fifth consecutive week the Cobras are ranked inside the top-15.

According to Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS), the Cobras rank inside the top-10 in several events on the South Atlantic Conference performance list.  

Malik Tarbell ranks sixth in the 100 and 200-meter dash. His best time of 11.08 in the 100-meter came at the Lenoir-Rhyne Powersox Invitational, while his time of 22.24 in the 200-meter came at the Johnson C. Smith University Invitational.

Ryan Archibold's 400-meter time of 50.53, which he ran at the Cocah O CCU Invitational, is good enough for seventh on the SAC performance list

Three Cobras rank inside the top-10 in the 800-meter. Razzel Kiplaget leads the trio with a time of 1:57.2. His time is No. 5 on the performance list. Brandon Mullins comes in a No. 6 with a time of 1:57.68. Both ran the times at the Johnson C. Smith University Invite. James Gregory ranks eighth with a time of 1:58.34, which he ran at the Wingate Invitational.

Jacob Chebii leads the Cobras in the distance runs, coming in with the fourth-best 10,000-meter time on the SAC performance list. He ran his time of 34:07.98 at the Coastal Carolina University Invitational.

The Cobras have dominated the hurdles so far this spring with seven runners flooding the top-10 rankings between the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles. In the 110-meter hurdles, Naim Fareed is fourth on the SAC performance list, with a time of 15.18, which he ran at the Battle of the Beaches. Paul Taylor II's time of 15.61 has landed him in the No. 6 spot on the performance list. He posted that time at the Coach O CCU Invitational. Derrian Moreau rounds out the trio with a time of 15.75 and the No. 9 spot on the list.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Fareed leads of quartet of Cobras that make up the top-10 rankings. Fareed who is No. 1 on the list, ran the conference-leading time of 54.41 at the CCU Invitational. Taylor II's time of 56 seconds also came at the CCU Invite and lands him the No. 4 on the performance list. Anthony Clontz is fifth on the list with a time of 57.72, while Caleb Nesbitt's time of 58.80 ranks him eighth.  

Luke Elliot's time of 10:54.83 in the 3000-meter steeplechase is good enough for tenth on the SAC performance list.

In the relay events, the Cobras rank second in the 4x 400-meter relay and fourth in the 4x 100-meter relay. They ran their top 4x 400 time of 3:21.82 at the Wingate University Invitational, while their 4x 100 time of 43.36 came at the Lenoir-Rhyne University PowerSox Invitational.

The Cobras will be back in action on Friday and Saturday (Apr. 15-16) for the South Atlantic Conference Championship in Hickory, N.C.
