Coker Cross Country Takes Sixth and Eighth at Wingate Invitational

WINGATE, N.C. – In her third race as a Cobra, Hannah Cook continued her successful ways with another top 15 finish at Saturday's (Sept. 21) Bulldog Stampede Invitational hosted by Wingate University. The junior led Coker with an 11th overall finish in the 5K race with a time of 20:53.

As a unit the women finished eighth out of 10 teams. Naomi Watson finished second for the Cobras with a time of 22:41 and was followed by Kirsten Sanders at 23:41. Rounding out the Coker runners were Taylor Hall, Ashley Thompkins, and Aneka Dixon who finished in 24:26, 27:45, and 28:37 respectively.

The men's team finished sixth out of nine teams, and were lead for the third consecutive race by junior Dylan Bates. Bates finished sixth overall with a time of 28:54 for his third consecutive top 25 finish. Sophomore Tom Sizeland finished 14th overall in 29:16, picking up his second top 15 finish of the season. Britian Tomlinson finished in 33:31, followed by Fabian Hardy at 33:41. Freshmen Tre' Williams and Patrick Tyler rounded out the men's team with times of 33:47 and 38:13 respectively.

Coker's will be in Charlotte, N.C. next on September 28 for the UNC Charlotte 49er Invite.
