Cook Leads Cobra Women to Top Ten Finish at Hyder-McMahill College Invitational
Hannah Cook placed seventh overall and the Coker women's cross country team placed six at the Hyder-McMahill College Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 14).
BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. – Hannah Cook had another outstanding race for the Coker women's cross country team on Saturday (Sept. 14) at the Hyder-McMahill College Invitational hosted by Montreat College. The junior paced the Cobras with a seventh place overall finish in the 5k race with a time of 20:27.
As a team the women placed sixth out of 11 teams. Naomi Watson placed in the top 25 with time of 21:57 and Kirsten Sanders came in next for Coker at 23:45. Rounding out the Cobra runners were Taylor Hall at 24:45, Ashley Thompkins at 26:54 and Ankea Dixon at 27:32.
In the men's race, just three Cobras were able to cross the finish line. Dylan Bates led the way for the men crossing the line with a time of 28:12, good enough for 25th place in the 8k race. Fabian Hardy came in next at 30:43 and Britain Tomlinson finished at 32:48.
The Cobras will hit the trails once again on Saturday (Sept. 21) at the Wingate Invitational in Wingate, N.C.
