Bio

2016-17: Abdus-Salaam collected 11 top-tens during his freshman season, highlighted by three runner-up finishes. The first coming in the triple jump at the Art & Linda Maillet UNC Open, the second in the long jump at the Braves Track Classic and the third in the triple jump at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational. He also set new program triple jump records during the indoor and outdoor season. The new indoor record of 46' 6.25" came at the Camel City Invitational, while the outdoor record of 46' 7.5" came at the Braves Track Classic. 

High School: Abdus-Salaam attended Warith Deen Mohammed High School where he lettered in soccer, basketball and track and field. On the track, he finished second in the Georgia Regional track meet in the long jump and triple jump, while finishing third at the Georgia High School Association Olympic State track meet in the triple and long jump. He also finished fifth at the USATF Georgia Junior Olympics in the triple jump. Off the track, he was a member of the honor roll, Beta Club and student government. He also won the citizenship award, leadership award and academic achievement award. 

Personal: Son of Hajirah Abdus-Salaam and Hosea Abdul-Salaam... he has one sibling Aishah.
