
Cobras Notch Five Top Tens; Break Two School Records At UCS Invite
The Coker men's track and field team broke two school records on Saturday.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Coker College men's track and field team had a strong showing at the UCS Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 18).
Zafir Abdus-Salaam continued his strong season, finishing fourth in the triple jump, recording a distance of 46' 6". Marcus Bryant was right on his heels, finishing fifth with a distance of 45' 9".
In the 4 x 400-meter relay, the team of Will Mosley, Tyriek Sampson, Brandon Mullins and Razzel Kiplaget set a new Coker record, running a time of 3:26.72, which was good enough for fourth place.
In the high jump, Bryant picked up another top-ten finish, finishing eighth with a distance of 5' 11.5".
Brandon Mullins rounded out the top-ten performances for the Cobras, running a time of 2:00.03 in the 800-meter dash and finishing tenth.
In the 200-meter dash, Tony McElveen Jr. ran a time of 22.85 breaking the previous school record, which he set.
The Cobras will be back in action on Mar. 3 when they travel to the UNCP Braves Classic.
