Cobras Compete at Royal Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Coker men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Royal Challenge hosted by Queens University on Friday (Oct. 7).

The men finished 29th as a team at the competition. Jacob Chebii led the men finishing 88th in 26:21.2, while Razzel Kiplaget finished 185th in 27:39.4. Brandon Mullins crossed the line 215th in 28:06.3, while Luke Elliott followed close behind in 221st (28:13.2). William Mosely (29:08.7, 274th), James Gregory (30:09.3, 304th), Jacob Maldonado (30:12.7, 307th), Jordan Bishop (30:19.4, 309th) and Xavier Murray (35:14.9, 356th) rounded out the men for Coker.

The women's team finished 33rd as a whole. Darroneshia Lott paced the women, finishing 13th in 17:57.1. Breanna Sullivan crossed the line 227th in 21:43.1, while Tiffany Taylor finished 288th in 23:11.5. Angeline Flores (24:24.4, 310th) and Da'Sha Jobes (27:02.7, 330th) also ran for the Navy and Gold.

The Cobras will run again at the South Atlantic Conference championship on Saturday, Oct. 22. The event will be run in Columbia, S.C. and hosted by Newberry College. The races are slated for a 10:00 a.m. start.
