Cobras Compete at Royal Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Coker men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Royal Challenge hosted by Queens University on Friday (Oct. 7).

The men finished 29^th as a team at the competition. Jacob Chebii led the men finishing 88^th in 26:21.2, while Razzel Kiplaget finished 185^th in 27:39.4. Brandon Mullins crossed the line 215^th in 28:06.3, while Luke Elliott followed close behind in 221^st (28:13.2). William Mosely (29:08.7, 274^th), James Gregory (30:09.3, 304^th), Jacob Maldonado (30:12.7, 307^th), Jordan Bishop (30:19.4, 309^th) and Xavier Murray (35:14.9, 356^th) rounded out the men for Coker.

The women's team finished 33^rd as a whole. Darroneshia Lott paced the women, finishing 13^th in 17:57.1. Breanna Sullivan crossed the line 227^th in 21:43.1, while Tiffany Taylor finished 288^th in 23:11.5. Angeline Flores (24:24.4, 310^th) and Da'Sha Jobes (27:02.7, 330^th) also ran for the Navy and Gold.

The Cobras will run again at the South Atlantic Conference championship on Saturday, Oct. 22. The event will be run in Columbia, S.C. and hosted by Newberry College. The races are slated for a 10:00 a.m. start.
