
Cook Paces Cobras; Sets School Record
Hannah Cook finishes first in the 5k and set a new school record, while Dylan Bates wins the 8k for the men.
SALISBURY, N.C. – In her first race as a Cobra, junior Hannah Cook ran herself into the Coker record books after winning the 5k race with a time of 19:02. Her time paced the Coker women's team to a fourth place finish overall.
Naomi Watson was second for Coker, and finished 15th overall with a time of 20:56. Kirsten Sanders and Taylor Hall finished 19th and 22nd with times of 21:42 and 22:20, followed by Aneka Dixon and Ashley Thompkins who finished in 24:44 and 25:53.
The Coker men's team finished second overall, and were lead by Junior Dylan Bates and sophomore Tom Sizeland. Bates won the men's 8k race with a time of 27:05, while Sizeland finished second with a time of 27:43. Fabian Hardy finished seventh overall with a time of 29:54, while Britian Tomlinson and Tre' Williams finished 17th and 18th with times of 33:14 and 33:19.
Coker's next event will be in Black Mountain, N.C. on September 14.
