Women’s XC Eleventh in Cross Country Preseason Poll

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's cross country team was voted No. 11 in the South Atlantic Conference preseason coaches' poll, the league office announced today.

 Last year, the Cobras placed 12th at the Conference Carolinas championship. The team shifts conferences to the SAC this season as it begins its second year under head coach Vic Finora.
 The Cobras return junior Kirsten Sanders and sophomores Aneka Dixon and Naomi Watson. Newcomers include senior Ashley Thompkins; junior Kaitlynn Jessup; transfers Hannah Cook, Taylor Hall and Vanessa Pina; and freshmen Makeda Eley O'Reilly and Rebecca Parham.

Coker's season begins Sept. 6 at the Catawba College Invitational.

Lenoir-Rhyne took the top spot in the coaches' poll with 116 overall points and nine first – place votes. Wingate was second with 112 points and two first-place votes. The entire preseason poll is as follows:
