Coker XC Takes 27th and 33rd at UNC Charlotte Invitational

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coker men's and women's cross country teams finished 27th and 33rd in the UNC Charlotte Invitational on Friday (Sept. 28).

Sophomore Josh Peterson blazed the trail for the Cobras in the 8k race, finishing in a time of 27:32.00. Tom Sizeland and Dylan Bates also broke the 30-minute mark, and finished right behind each other with times of 28:07.25 and 28:25.33.  Thad Sulek and Mikey Mazzola rounded out the race for Coker, finishing with time of 30:00.50 and 35:40.83.

Cobra standout Stephanie Shaw had outstanding performance as she broke the 30-minute mark and finished first for the Cobras in the 6k race with a time of 28:14.47.  Cristina Vital and Naomi Watson finished second and third for Coker's team with times of 30:16.60 and 30:22.83.  Finishing out the race for the Cobras was Aneka Dixon and Devan Williams who finished in times of 35:27.74 and 40:21.92, respectively.

The Coker cross country teams will strap up their laces again on October 5, when they compete in a Pre-Conference Meet held in Charlotte, N.C.
