Cobras Compete in Pembroke Open

The Coker Wrestling Team traveled down to UNC Pembroke to compete in the Pembroke open on Sunday.

At 141

Gavin Mcdowell scored 4.5 points for the team, tallying a win by major decision in the first round of the Championship Bracket, followed by a technical fall win in the second round of the Championship Bracket.

Zaid Miller also competed at the 141 mark, scoring 2 points for the Cobras, which included a tech fall win for Miller in the first round of the Consolation Bracket.

Austin Collins competed for the Cobras tallying 6.5 points for the team. Miller was able to score back to back wins in the Championship Bracket one by medical forfeit and scoring a fall in the second round. Collins would also pick up a win by decision in the fourth round of the Consolation Bracket.

Emmanuel Deas competed for the Cobras.

After a busy weekend for the Cobras, Coker will return to action on Wednesday, November 8th as they head back on the road to face Lincoln Memorial with match time set for 6 p.m.
