Coker Finishes Seventh and Ninth at Conference Championship
The Coker men's and women's golf teams finished in ninth and seventh place on Sunday (Apr. 21), at the Conference Carolinas Championship.
GRAHAM, N.C. – The Coker men's and women's golf teams finished in ninth and seventh place on Sunday (Apr. 21), at the Conference Carolinas Championship. After a 36-hole tournament the men finished with a team total of 612, while the women finished with 690.
Christopher Fuga shot the low score of the weekend with a 152. Fuga finished the final day with a 74 (+2), to help push him to a top 25 spot in the individual rankings. Aaron Beebe and Jake Murphy both finished in the top 30, after they each shot a 153. Nicklaus Kennedy and Luke Coates finished the tournament with scores of 154 and 165.
Taylor Demby and Sara Allen led the way for the Cobras, as they each finished with 169 on the weekend to help secure spots in the top 15 individually. Mallory Thompkins and Krista Thorpe finished with scores of 170 and 182, while Jessi McKenzie finished with 211.
The end of the conference tournament concludes the season for the women, but the men will wait for an at large-bid to gain entrance into the regional tournament. Regional berths will be announced on Friday, April 26.
