Taylor’s Win Leads Cobras to Fourth Place Finish at Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational
Paul Taylor II picked up a win to lead the Cobras at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invite.
HICKORY, N.C. – The Coker College men's track and field team earned 16 top-10 finishes on Saturday (Mar. 19) at the Lenoir-Rhyne PowerBox Invitational.
Brandon Campbell earned an eighth place showing in the hammer throw, finishing with a distance of 24.34 meters.
Caleb Nesbitt finished in eighth in the long jump, recording a distance of six meters.
In the triple jump, Attiyyah Shakir came in fifth place with a distance of 11.83 meters.
Luke Elliot scored a runner-up finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. He recorded a time of 11:08.54
In the 4x 100-meter relay, the Cobras finished in second, running a time of 43.36.
Jacob Chebii, James Gregory and Brandon Mullins all earned top-10 finishes in the 1500-meter run.
Paul Taylor II and Derrian Moreau finished in fourth and sixth in the 110-meter hurdles.
Malik Tarbell finished in eighth in the 100-meter dash, finishing with a time of 11.08.
In the 800-meter run, Gregory and Razzel Kiplaget notched top-five showings.
Taylor picked up a win in the 400-meter hurdles, running a time of 58.39.
Joshua Dacres finished in eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.96.
Joe Altieri rounded things out for the Cobras, finishing in 10th in the 5000-meter run with a time of 17:51.26.
As a team, Coker scored 63 points, leaving them in fourth place.
The Cobras will be back in action on Friday (Mar. 25) when they travel to the Adidas Winthrop Invitational.
