Fuga, Clay, Lead Cobras to Eighth at Aflac/Cougar Invitational

COLUMBUS, GA. – The Coker men's golf team placed eighth out of 18 teams at the Aflac/Cougar Invitational on Tuesday (Oct. 1) after shooting a 36 hole total of 882 at the Country Club of Columbus. 

The team was led by Christopher Fuga who shot scores of 70 and 73 on day one, followed by a 74 on day two.  Fuga's combined score of 217 put him tied for fifteenth place at the tournament for individual stroke play. 

Joining the ranks of a top-25 individual finish was Josh Clay.  Clay shot a 74 and 70 during his first day, and then finished the last 18 holes with a 76 to total 220 for the tournament. 

Rounding out the field for the Cobras was Zane Price who shot 71, 80, 71 to total 222 for the tournament, followed by Matt Kreider with scores of 75, 76, and 73 to total 224.  Blake Baysden was next on the list with scores of 78, 79, and 84, to land a score of 241 for the two-day event. 

Coker will have little rest before traveling to Surfside Beach, N.C. to participate in their next event.  The team is next scheduled to appear in the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate tournament on October 7th
