Coker Men’s Golf Ready For Jay Jenison Memorial

ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA. – The Coker men's golf team will be traveling to Florida on Monday (Sept. 24), to participate in the 2012 Flagler College "Jay Jenison Memorial" Invitational.  The Jay Jenison Memorial will be held at The Palencia Club, a par 72, 7,071 yard course. 

After a successful third place finish at last week's Kiawah Island Invitational, Coker will rely on the same five golfers for this week's outing.  Last week, Christopher Fuga led the field for the Cobras, finishing the two-day event with a combined score of 147 (+3).  Nicklaus Kennedy and Josh Clay finished with a stroke average of 149 (+5), while Jake Murphy and Luke Coates each shot a 150 (+6). 

Coker shot one of their lowest rounds in school history last week, when they finished the first round with a team stroke average of 287 (-1). 

The two-day event will host 15 competitive teams including Coker.  Those teams include:  Flagler College, Saint Leo University, Barry University, Rollins College, Armstrong Atlantic State University, Lander University, University of Montevallo, Eckerd College, University of Tampa, Anderson University, Wilmington University, Newberry College, Mount Olive College, and Lynn University.

The 36-hole shotgun style of play is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
