Cobras Open 2017 With Midweek Matchup Against Wingate

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team will return to the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center on Wednesday (Jan. 4) to face the visiting Wingate University Bulldogs in a South Atlantic Conference matchup. Opening tip is set for 8 p.m. with live stats and video available at www.cokercobras.com

The Cobras enter 2017 leading the South Atlantic Conference in offensive rebounds, pulling down 15.7 per contest. The Navy and Gold also rank third in steals, swiping 10.1 per game.

Individually, JaQuez Motley leads the scoring threat for Coker, averaging 13.1 points per game. Jake Barrett is averaging 11 points per game, while Miguel Priest and Roman Hall are averaging 9.5 and 9.1 points per outing. After a strong month of December, Nathan Lemke is averaging nearly nine points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Wingate travels to Hartsville with a 5-7 overall record and a 2-4 record in South Atlantic Conference play. The Bulldogs have five players averaging 10-plus points per game, led by the 14.7 points per game of Mike Baez.

Opening tip is set for 8 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 4). Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
