Women's Cross Country Takes Fifth, Men Seventh at SAC Championships

HARROGATE, TENN..- The Coker men's and women's cross country teams competed at the South Atlantic Conference championships on Saturday (Oct. 24).  

The women captured fifth place while the men took seventh place. In the women's race, Mercy Muhuhu paced the Cobras finishing in 21st in 20:00.3. Shauntel Smullen followed close behind in 24th with a time of 20:12.6. Senior Hannah Weibel finished 27th in 20:21.5. Breanna Sullivan came back into the lineup and placed 38th in 20:49.5. Lisa Foster locked up 44th place in 21:03.8, while Vanessa Pina rounded out the Coker runners in 77th place with a time of 22:52.5. 

Jacob Chebii led Coker placing 14th in 26:28.6. Noah Cook placed 24th finishing in 26:59.2. Brandon Mullins finished in 27:35.6 for 41st place. Tom Sizeland followed in 48th place in 27:49.5, while Razzel Kiplaget locked up 68th place in 29:00.6. Luke Elliot (76th, 29:58.6) and Adam White (77th, 30:08.2) finished back to back, and Devin Lowry (83rd, 31:43.3) rounded out Coker's runners.

The Cobras will run again on Saturday (Nov. 7) at the Southeast Regional in Monroe, N.C. The races are slated to start at 10:00 a.m.
