Cross Country Eyes SAC Championship

The Coker men's and women's cross country teams have their sights set on the South Atlantic Conference Championships hosted by Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn. The races take place on Saturday (Oct. 24).

The Cobras swept the honors of SAC Runners of the Week with Jacob Chebii for the men and Hannah Weibel for the women.

Both runners won their respective races at the Francis Marion Invitational last Friday (Oct. 16). The women captured first place while the men took second.

Shauntel Smullen notched a third place finish in 20:01.5. Mercy Muhuhu finished in fourth place 20:41.8. Finishing out the top 10 for Coker was Lisa Foster (8th, 21:35) and Vanessa Pina (9th, 21:51). Jarmeela Shaw finished 12th in 22:52.6. Vivian Felder rounded out the Coker women finishing in 14th in 23:12.3.

Noah Cook wrapped up a third place finish in 16:32.3, while Brandon Mullins took fifth place in 16:43.1. Rounding out the top 10 for Coker was Razzel Kiplaget, finishing in 10th with a time of 17:38.3. Luke Elliot (11th, 17:43.9), Devin Lowry (13th, 18:16.8) and Adam White (14th, 18:32.7) rounded out the runners for Coker.

The races are slated for a 9:00 a.m. start.
