Cobras Triumph at Francis Marion

FLORENCE, S.C.- A first place finish by the women and a second place finish by the men were the results of a successful Francis Marion Invitational for Coker's cross country teams.

Hannah Weibel won the women's race with a time of 19:25.8, while Shauntel Smullen notched a third place finish in 20:01.5. Mercy Muhuhu finished in fourth place 20:41.8. Finishing out the top 10 for Coker was Lisa Foster (8th, 21:35) and Vanessa Pina (9th, 21:51). Jarmeela Shaw finished 12th in 22:52.6. 

In the men's race, Jacob Chebii took the top spot in 16:02.7. Noah Cook wrapped up a third place finish in 16:32.3, while Brandon Mullins took fifth place in 16:43.1. Rounding out the top 10 for Coker was Razzel Kiplaget, finishing in 10th with a time of 17:38.3. Luke Elliot (11th, 17:43.9), Devin Lowry (13th, 18:16.8) and Adam White (14th, 18:32.7) rounded out the runners for Coker.

The teams will run again at the South Atlantic Conference championships on Oct. 24 in Harrogate, TN. The races are slated for a 9:00 a.m. start.
