Coker Cross Country Set to Compete in SAC Championships

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Coker College men's and women's cross country teams are geared up and ready to go for the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 8 in Salisbury N.C.

The women have put together an impressive season thus far which includes a win at the Francis Marion Cross Country Invitational to go along with two other top three results. They have been led by freshman Shauntel Smullen who has finished in the top 25 in every race this season, including a runner-up finish and a 5k time of 18:55 in her last meet at Francis Marion.

The men have also made some noise this season with three top four finishes this season, highlighted by runner-up finishes at the CIU Invitational and Francis Marion Invitational. They have been anchored by freshman Noah Cook and senior Dylan Bates. Cook has finished inside the top 20 in four out of five races this season, most notably was a runner-up in his last meet at Francis Marion. Bates has racked up two top ten finishes this season.

Races will begin on Saturday (Nov. 8) in Salisbury N.C.
