Coker Finishes Seventh and 12th At Conference Carolinas Championship

CONCORD, N.C. – The Coker men's and women's cross country teams placed seventh and 12th at the Conference Carolinas Championship meet on Friday (Oct. 19).

Josh Peterson had an outstanding 8k-race performance, finishing first for the Cobras and placing 20th overall (of 82).  Tom Sizeland and Dylan Bates finished 24th and 31st for Coker, while Thad Sulek earned a 54th place finish.  Cooper Lyon, Quinn Wegner, and Mikey Mazzola finished side-by-side at 57th, 58th and 59th.  

Stephanie Shaw led the Cobra pack in the women's 5k race, finishing first for Coker and 46th overall (of 86).  Naomi Watson and Cristina Vital finished 54th and 61st, while Aneka Dixon and Devan Williams rounded out the final spots for the Cobras finishing 72nd and 73rd.

The Coker cross country teams will lace-up for their final run of the year, when they travel to Charlotte on November 3rd, to compete in the NCAA Southeast Regional.
