Coker Ready to Chase Conference Carolinas Title

CONCORD, N.C. – The league title for men's and women's cross-country will be on the line for the Cobras this Friday (Oct. 19), as they travel to Frank Liske Park to participate in the Conference Carolinas Championship.

Both the men and the women ran their fastest team times of the year last week in the Queens Royal Challenge, with the men combining a time of 2:26:25 and the women with 2:04:57.

The men's team is anticipating a strong performance from Josh Peterson, Tom Sizeland and Dylan Bates.  All three of these runners made Coker cross country history last week when they finished the 8k race under the 27-minute mark.

Stephanie Shaw and Naomi Watson have finished first for the Cobras in every race so far this year, and are hoping to keep the trend this weekend.  Shaw and Watson both finished the 5k race under the 23-minute mark last week.

All league teams will be competing for the title this weekend, as the women's 5K is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. with the men following in their 8K run at 5:00 p.m.
