Cobras Look to Dethrone Royals Tuesday Evening

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's volleyball team returns home to the DeLoach Center on Tuesday (Nov. 1) to take on the visiting Queens University Royals in a South Atlantic Conference matchup at 6 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at www.cokercobras.com .

The Cobras head into the matchup with a 12-13 overall record and recorded a 3-1 victory over Carson-Newman last Friday (Oct. 28) for the season sweep.

The Cobras have displayed a well-balanced attack throughout the season with five players who have accumulated 100 kills or more. Christen Bragg leads the team with 190 kills, while Madison Bingle (176), Alexis Berles (147), Bethany Prochnow (117), and Megan Hardy (111) have eclipsed the 100 kills mark.

On the defensive side of the ball, Kara Overholt is having the best season of her career with 455 digs. Alexis Berles has been a strong presence in the heart of the Cobras defense with a team-leading 58 total blocks.  A recent bright spot for the Cobras defense has been Sierra Harvey, who collected an impressive seven total blocks in the victory over Carson-Newman.

The Royals enter Tuesday's match with a 16-5 overall record that includes a 13-3 mark in the SAC. Meredith Jones leads their offense with 309 kills and Megan Mancini leads the Royals defense with 352 digs.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free to all Coker faculty, staff, and students.
