Cobras to Open New DeLoach Center against Bulldogs

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's volleyball team will take on the Barton College Bulldogs in its 2014 home opener on Wednesday (Sept. 10). First serve is slated for 7 p.m., with live coverage available on www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras come into the non-conference match with a 2-2 overall record and are led by freshmen Madison Bingle and Megan Hardy. Bingle leads the team in kills (33) and digs (40), while Hardy is close behind with 27 kills of her own. Pacing the Navy and Yellow's offense is freshman Christen Bragg with 132 assists, which is good for second in the SAC.

Barton comes to Hartsville with a 0-4 record and is led by the trio of Melissa Cochran, Riley Bane and Amanda Grandy. Cochran is tops on the team with 38 kills, while Bane and Grandy lead the team in assists and digs with 81 and 53, respectively.

Wednesday's match will mark the first official athletic event played in the new DeLoach Center. To commemorate the occasion, the athletic department will be hosting a White Out during the match. Fans are encouraged to wear white, with the first 100 fans to enter the doors receiving a special Coker white out t-shirt.

Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students. Doors open at 6 p.m.
