Women's Track and Field Headed to Columbia for Gamecock Invitational

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's track and field team sets their sights on the Gamecock Invitational that will take place on Saturday, April 7. After having success at the Weems Baskin Invitational, also hosted by the University of South Carolina, the Cobras are poised for success returning to Columbia, S.C. 

Last week more history was broken at the Raleigh Relays (March 30-31). Senior leader Darroneshia Lott took on the 800 and 1500-meter races bringing in new Coker and personal records, along with an individual title in the 800. Lott ran a 2:06.21 in the 800, claiming the top spot on the podium, while automatically qualifying for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. The mark has her third-fastest in Division II. Lott's time of 4:25.72 in the 1500 preliminarily qualifies her for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships and has her fourth-fastest in all of Division II.
