Coker Women's Track & Field Ready to go for the SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's track and field team will once again travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to compete at the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Monday (Feb. 19). The events are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. Results from the championships can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com

The Cobras last competed at the two-day Camel City Invitational on Friday and Saturday Feb. 2-3. Coker turned in good marks in day one of events. Noelia Leake, Chauntress Like, and Angel Gale made their way up the Coker leaderboards.

Leake took on the women's 60-meter preliminary race, placing 14th overall in the time of 7.81. The time is sixth-best in Coker history.

Like put her best foot forward in the women's one-mile race, crossing the line in 5:42.41, moving into second place all-time at Coker.

Lastly, Gale, cranked a time of 1:02.60 in the women's 400-meter race to secure the sixth-best time in program history.

On the second day at the Camel City Invitational, Leake put herself to the test in the women's 200-meter race, crossing the line in 25.95 seconds, which ties her own previous record.

Deonzha Jackson and Kayla Ruff participated in the 60-meter hurdle preliminary races, finishing 16th and 19th respectively in times of 9.19 and 9.25 seconds. Jackson's time moves her into second place in the Coker record book and Ruff one slot behind, in third.

Tamara McMichael also moved into second place in Coker history for the women's shot put, tossing a length of 31' 8".

The Coker College women's track and field team will take on the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Monday (Feb. 19) in Winston-Salem, N.C. Results from the event can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
