Women's Track and Field Aim for Results at Camel City Invitational

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's track and field team will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to tackle the Camel City Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 2-3). Continuing on the season's success, the Cobras will seek new program records in the process. 

Last week at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness, Chauntress Like pushed the pace and took over the top-spot in Navy and Gold records for the fastest 3000-meter time, finishing in 11:34.34.

Noelia Leake followed Like's hard work and secured Coker's fastest 200-meter time, finishing in 25.89 seconds, placing fifth overall on the day.

In the weight throw, Tamara McMichael gave it her all and launched a distance of 10.92-meters. The throw is the farthest in program history.

Deonzha Jackson and Kaylah Ruff secured fifth and tenth place finishes in the 60-meter hurdles event, with times of 9.14 and 9.44 seconds. Jackson's time puts her second all-time in Coker history.

Da'Sha Jobes registered a fifth place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.39 meters.

Additionally, Charity Snelling, Ruff, Angel Gale, and Jalecia Williamson brought home a second place finish in the 4x400 event, crossing the finish line in a time of 4:13.59.

The Navy and Gold will head to Winston-Salem, N.C. Feb. 2-3 for the Camel City Invitational. Both day's events are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Live results can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
