Coker's Noelia Leake Ties Her Own School Record at the Wake Forest Open

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Coker College women's track and field team took their efforts to Winston-Salem, N.C. on Saturday (Jan. 20) to the Wake Forest Open. Noelia Leake and Kaylah Ruff helped provide a spark for the Navy and Gold with good efforts in the 60-meter hurdles and 60-meter dash. 

Noelia Leake pushed the pace in the 60-meter preliminary race, crossing the line fifth, in 7.70 seconds, which tied her own school record. In the finals, she finished sixth in 7.73.

Kaylah Ruff brought home a top-10 finish in the women's 60-meter hurdles preliminary race, in the time of 9.33 seconds, which ties her for third-best in program history.

Tamara McMichael tossed in the weight throw for a distance of 34' 6.25", slinging the second-best throw in program history.

Additionally, Angel Gale, Kaylah Ruff, Jalecia Williamson, and Autumn Walters brought home sixth in the women's 4x400 relay in the time of 4:18.11.

Coker's women's track and field team will next compete on Sunday, Jan. 28 at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness in Winston-Salem, N.C. beginning at 10 a.m.
