Leake's Record Day Paces Cobras at UNCW Invitational

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Coker College women's track and field team wrapped up the final day of competition at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational on Saturday (Mar. 11).

Noelia Leake headlined day two for the Cobras, winning the 100-meter dash, running a recording-setting time of 12.14 seconds.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Jalecia Williamson finished third with a time of 1:06.35.

The quartet of Angel Gale, Briana Nixon, Jalecia Williamson and Darroneshia Lott ran a time of 4:01.71 in the 4 x 400-meter relay, finishing in third.

In the high jump, Charity Snelling recorded a height of 1.55 meters, finishing in fifth place. Snelling also picked up a top-10 in the triple jump, recording a distance of 10.74 meters and finishing in seventh.

In the 4 x 100-meter relay, the team of Angel Gale, Da'Sha Jobes, Talicia Murphy and Iyonna Mckenzie ran a time of 49.05 seconds, finishing in seventh place.

In the mile run, Darroneshia Lott ran a time of 5:16.39, breaking the previous outdoor record by 26 seconds. Her time left her in ninth place.  

The Cobras will be back in action on Friday (Mar. 17) when they travel to the Mount Olive Invitational.
