Lott Wins 800 Meters; Cobras Set Two School Records on Day One of Seahawk Invitational

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Coker College women's track and field team wrapped up day one of competition at the Seahawk Invitational on Friday (Mar. 10).

Darroneshia Lott headlined the opening day for the Navy and Gold, winning the 800-meter dash by seven seconds and breaking the previous outdoor record by nearly 11 seconds. Her time of 2:11.60 was over three seconds faster than her previous personal best of 2:15.07.  

In the long jump, Da'Sha Jobes finished in third and set a school record of her own, recording a leap of 5.54 meters (18' 2.25").

Noelia Leake qualified for the finals in the 100-meter dash, running a time of 12.47 seconds, finishing in seventh in the preliminaries.

Day two will begin Saturday (Mar. 11) morning at UNC Wilmington.
