Cobras Welcome Trojans for SAC Opener

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's soccer will play host to the Anderson Trojans on Wednesday (Sept. 14) in the team's opening game of conference play.

The Cobras (1-1) come into the matchup after picking up their first win of the season at Barton last Wednesday (Sept. 7). Ashley Hogg and Phoebie Eshen each netted their first career goals in Navy and Gold while Shelby Middleton and Ashton Knopf combined for the victory between the pipes. 

On the season, Renee Ledesma, Eshen and Hogg each have one goal, while Ledesma leads the team in points with three. Middleton has been stellar in net for the Cobras so far with one win in 112:19 played. The sophomore also has not allowed a goal yet this season, and is tied for first in the conference with a 0.00 Goals Against Average.

The Trojans come into the contest 3-1 on the year, with this game being their first conference match. The team has not surrendered a goal in its three wins combined. Tina Shakes leads the team offensively, having registered six goals on the season, tied for first in the conference. Abby Helm will play between the pipes for Anderson; she owns a 3-1 record on the season and a 1.04 GAA, good for seventh in the conference.

The match is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start at the Coker College athletic field. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
