Cobras Suffer 4-0 Loss to Indians

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's soccer team lost a tough match to the visiting Catawba Indians Thursday night, 4-0.

It was a physical game from start to finish with a total of 13 fouls, 10 coming in the first half of the match.

Catawba fired 14 shots at Coker goalkeeper Lizz Morris, but she held her ground with seven saves.  It wasn't until the 39th minute when a loose ball was tapped in by Indian midfielder Mary Kirkman that just barely evaded Morris. The Cobras trailed 1-0 heading into halftime.

In the second period, the Indians went on to score three more goals, and win the game 4-0.

The Cobras will continue their quest this Saturday (Sept. 8) as they travel to Georgia to take on Armstrong Atlantic State University.

The McDonalds player of the game was Millie Rogers.
