Cobras Fall Late to Braves in Heartbreaking Loss

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker wrestling lost its final home match of the season to ECAC foe UNC Pembroke 19-18 on Thursday (Feb. 4).

Charlie Huff (125) won 10-2 for a major decision to get the match started. Derrick Nelson would rack up yet another win by tech fall at 133, winning 22-7. Curtis Harris would hold on for a tight 6-4 decision at 141, to put Coker out to a 12-0 lead. Rashad Cunningham would extend the home team's lead picking up a 7-5 decision at 157, followed up by a Derek Rothermel 10-6 decision win at 165. With Coker leading 18-4, the Braves would win each of the final four bouts, including a pin at heavyweight to complete the comeback victory.

The Cobras finish up the regular season next Wednesday (Feb. 10) when they travel to Anderson. The action will begin at 7:00 p.m.
