Cobras and Crusaders Set to Battle in Final Home Match of the Season

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Cobra wrestlers will host the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in their final home match of the season on Tuesday (Jan. 21). Live coverage of the dual will available on www.cokercobras.com.

Kevin Thompson continues to lead the way for the Cobras. The 149-pound freshman has won three of his last four matches by pin or major decision. Currently, he is tied for the team lead in wins with 17, and he leads the team in pins with seven. Austin Akins and Charlie Huff also have 17 wins each at the 285-pound and 133-pound divisions, respectively.

Belmont Abbey comes to Hartville sporting a 3-8 record in dual matches. Most recently, the Crusaders defeated Anderson 40-8 thanks to four pins, a tech fall and two major decisions.

The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at Coker's Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium. Tickets for the match can be purchased at the door. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students and, free for all Coker faculty, staff and students.
