HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's lacrosse team picked up another win on the season, defeating Barton 20-8 behind a record-breaking performance from Faith Kent. Kent set the school's single-game points record by notching seven goals and six assists for a total of 13 points on the day.

Kent scored five times in the first half with her first goal coming just four minutes into the game. She made a slick move from behind the net to get past a Barton defender and then wrapped around the cage to score easily and give the Cobras a 1-0 lead.

The Cobras scored five times in the next six minutes, thanks to two goals from Haley McCusker and Kent's second goal.  Kent added her third goal of the game with 15:45 remaining when Jaeme Noriega recovered a turnover and then found Kent wide open in front of the net where she picked up an easy score.

Barton responded with two goals of their own before McCusker scored twice in just 81 seconds for her third and fourth goals of the game. McCusker finished with five goals, and now has 39 on the season.

Bailey O'Brien and Bri Neily added back-to-back goals to extend the lead to 13-4 before Kent scored her fifth of the half when she circled the cage and found the back of the net to give Coker a 14-4 lead going into halftime. The Navy and Gold missed only five shots in the first 30 minutes of action.

Barton opened the second half with a goal before McCusker responded with her fifth goal. Katie Driskell then took control for the Cobras, scoring three goals over eight minutes and recording a career-high four goals on the day.

Kent broke the school single-game points record with an assist to Driskell with 17:28 remaining, and extended the record with a final goal of her own just minutes later thanks to a great pass from Alexis Zegan to set up the scoring opportunity.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday, April 7 when they travel to Tusculum to take on the Pioneers in South Atlantic Conference action. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m.
