Coker Welcomes Barton for Third Straight Home Contest

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's lacrosse team invites the Barton College Bulldogs for a non-conference, mid-week game on Wednesday, April 4. The Cobras look to gain traction and turn their season around against the Bulldogs.

The Cobra offense runs through Faith Kent and Haley McCusker with 43 and 34 goals, respectively. Kent's 17 assists is the team-high with Bailey O'Brien coming in second with seven. McCusker has 30 ground balls, while Katie Driskell has scooped up 20. Kent and McCusker have combined for 112 draw controls out of the team's 145. Driskell and McCusker head up the caused turnover category with 15 and 11, respectively. Cassie Williams has 97 saves through Coker's nine games for a 40.9 save percentage.

As of April 1, the Navy and Gold lead the conference in draw controls per game with 16.11, which is good for 16th nationally. The goalkeeper Williams is first in the SAC in saves per game with 12.13, enough for seventh in the nation. She is also fourth in the conference in save percentage at 40.9% and in saves with 97. Driskell ranks second in the SAC in caused turnovers per game with 2.14. McCusker claims second in the conference in shots per game at 8.44 (11th nationally. She is third throughout the SAC in ground balls per game (3.33), goals per game (3.78), and shots on goal per game (6.67), while fourth in points per game with 4.11. Kent leads the conference in eight different categories: draw controls per game (6.67), free position goals per game (1.00), goals (43), goals per game (4.78, fourth nationally), points (60), points per game (6.67, sixth nationally), shots per game (9.67, fourth in the nation), and shots on goal per game (7.33, fifth nationally). She also claims second in the SAC in assists per game at 1.89.

Barton has 104 goals throughout their 10 games, alongside 47 assists, with 229 ground balls, 119 draw controls, 226 turnovers, and caused 98 turnovers.

Opening draw against Barton is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
