Coker Brings in Rams for Weekend Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's lacrosse team host the Shepherd Rams for a non-conference game on Friday (Mar. 16) after their week-long break in action.

Faith Kent leads the Navy and Gold with 36 points (24 goals and 12 assists). In their last game against Findlay on Friday (Mar. 9), Kent became the first Cobra (men or women) to eclipse 200 career points in lacrosse. Haley McCusker has 15 goals and three assists to her credit thus far. McCusker also has the team-high in ground balls with 18 and draw controls with 25. Kent and Sarah Bryson follow with 21 and 12 draw controls, respectively. Katie Driskell is the other Cobra in double-digit ground balls, scooping up 13 and causing a team-best 11 turnovers. Cassie Williams has 55 saves through five games for Coker.

The Rams are guided by Lillian Funke's 27 points (21 goals and six assists) and Regan Brown's 22 points (13 goals and nine assists). Casey Hickman leads the team with 25 ground balls and Funke's nine caused turnovers. Hickman, the goalie, has collected 46 saves through five games.

Opening draw against Shepherd is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
