Cobras Victorious Over Valkyries

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker women's lacrosse team faced the Valkyries of Converse College on Friday (Feb. 23) night in a non-conference game. The Cobras won in dominant fashion, 17-8.

Haley McCusker was a force on the offensive half, scoring seven goals and matching her career-high, while adding three ground balls to her totals. Katie Driskell also set herself a career-high in assists with five. Driskell also scored three times, picked up four ground balls, and caused four turnovers. Alexis Zegan and Sarah Bryson both found the back of the net once and added an assist each. Bryson also caused four turnovers, scooped up three ground balls, and controlled seven draws. Faith Kent had a solid night as well, finishing with five goals and three assists. Bri Neily and Bailey O'Brien tacked on assists, one and two, respectively. Cassie Williams earned nine saves in front of the cage, collecting the win.

The Navy and Gold stay home for one more game. They will compete against Chowan on Tuesday (Feb. 27) afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
