Cobras Bring In Valkyries for Non-Conference Game

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker women's lacrosse team will play Converse College on Friday (Feb. 23) night. The Cobras are in the midst of the three-game homestand.

Faith Kent started off her season with a dominating six goal and one assist performance. Haley McCusker also found the back of the net twice and served up two assists (both to Kent) in the game. Katie Driskell and Sarah Bryson both scored unassisted to account for Coker's 10 goals. Cassie Williams finished with 14 saves.

The Cobras collected eight ground balls, controlled nine draws, had nine clears, and five caused turnovers in their only game thus far.

The Valkyries are coming off of a 20-8 loss versus Emmanuel (Ga.) on Tuesday (Feb. 20). They are 1-2 on the season.

Opening draw for the Navy and Gold is set for 6:00 p.m. at the Coker Athletic Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
