Cobras Ready for Conference Tilt with Indians

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's lacrosse (4-4, 1-3 SAC) will battle with South Atlantic Conference foe Catawba on Wednesday (Mar. 30).

The Cobras last took the field on Saturday (Mar. 26) when they fell to Wingate 15-8. Mackenzie Baker and Faith Kent each notched hat tricks in the loss, along with Claudia Jenkins netting two of her own. Baker also collected her 100th career point when she scored at the 27:04 mark of the second half. Cassie Dodge (4-4) took the loss in the cage, making seven saves. 

On the year Cobra freshman attack Faith Kent is tied for fifth in the conference in goals with 28, as well as tied for third in points with 35. Fellow freshman Cassie Dodge is eighth in the conference in saves with a total of 52.

Catawba comes into the matchup 4-4 overall with a 2-1 mark in conference. Meredith Jones leads the Indians offense with 17 goals and 18 assists good for 35 points. Two other Indians also have at least thirty points on the season, Kirstyn Kruse (33) and Megan Shortt (30). They will turn to Bethany Davis in the cage, who has made 67 saves in eight starts.

Opening draw is set for 5:00 p.m. at the Coker Athletic Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
