Coker Takes Down Lees McRae Behind Kent's Eight Goals

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- A game-high eight goals from freshman Faith Kent pushed Coker women's lacrosse (3-1) past Lees McRae 17-10 on Thursday (Mar. 10).

Kent got on the board early in the first half, responding with two unassisted goals to give Coker an early 2-1 lead. Kent would pour in seven of her eight total in the first half, along with tallies from Haley McCusker, Claudia Jenkins and Cierra Davis to put Coker up 10-5 at the break.

The Cobras would increase their lead in the second half, with McCusker scoring three straight to begin the frame and put the score at 13-5. McCusker would notch her fourth of the half and fifth total a short few minutes later. Cierra Davis also scored twice in the contest.

Cassie Dodge notched her third win in the cage, stopping six shots.

The Cobras are back in action Saturday (Mar. 12) when they host Brevard in a South Atlantic Conference matchup. Opening draw is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Coker College athletic field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
