Cobras Host Lees McRae in Non-conference Matinee

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's lacrosse will host Lees McRae in its 2016 home opener on Thursday (Mar. 10).

The Cobras (2-1 0-1 SAC) last action came in the form of a 16-3 win at Truett-McConnell on Monday (Mar. 7). Faith Kent led the Coker charge recording four goals in the contest. The freshman also notched four ground balls and caused three turnovers. Haley McCusker also notched a hat trick in the contest, while Marabeth Durden scored twice, collected one ground ball, caused three turnovers and won four draw controls. Claudia Jenkins tallied one goal, three draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Cierra Davis, Ashley Burgett and Bailey O'Brien also scored one apiece in the win.

Faith Kent has paced the Cobras offensively through their first three games. The freshman has tallied 12 goals and one assist for a total of 13 points, while sophomore Haley McCusker has chipped in five goals and one assist for six points on the year. In the cage, the Cobras turn to freshman Cassie Dodge, who has made 27 saves in 180 minutes played.

Opening draw is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Coker College athletic field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
