Cobras Sit in Second After Day One of Cutter Creek Invitational

SNOW HILL, N.C. – The Coker College women's golf team fired a round of 321 to open up the Cutter Creek Invitational, leaving the Cobras in a tie for second place with 18 holes to go. The team score of 321 is tied for the third-lowest round in Coker women's golf history. 

Angela Luna led the way for the Navy and Gold, carding a round of 75. Luna's three-over round leaves her in a tie for third on the individual leaderboard. Kelli Smith shot a round of 81 in her college debut. Smith is in a tie for 14th going into the final round. Bella Harris sits in a tie for 20th after a round of 82, while Amber Winburn signed off on a round of 83 in her college debut. Winburn is in a tie for 24th on the individual leaderboard. Ana Orlov rounded things out for the Cobras, shooting a round of 85.

UNC Pembroke sits atop the 11-team leaderboard after posting a team score of 310. The University of Mount Olive also shot a round of 321, leaving the Trojans in a tie for second with Coker. Ashlii Thompson of UNCP is the individual overnight leader after a round of 71. 

The Cobras will go off hole number one in the final round from 9:56 to 10:26 a.m.
