Coker Women's Golf Takes Fifth at Cherokee Valley Invitational

TIGGERVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobra women's golf team took home fifth place honors at the Cherokee Valley Invitational after carding a team score of 339 on Tuesday (Mar. 29), for a two day total of 671 (+95).

Leading the way for the Navy and Gold was Angela Luna with a an eighth place finish overall. The sophomore signed off on an 83 on Tuesday, giving her a two-day total of 161 (+17).  Freshman Bella Harris was just four strokes behind Luna with a second round 87 and a 12th place finish overall after a two-round score of 165 (+21).  Fellow freshman Ana Orlov shot an 85 on day two and earned a 26th place finish with a tournament score of 172 (+28). Junior Taylor Gaskins fired an 84 on day two and placed 29th overall with a total of 174 (+30) for the two-day event, and sophomore Margaret Mills rounded out the Cobra golfers by signing off on an 87, for a two-day total of 176 (+32).

Queens University of Charlotte was the tournament champion, while Grace Glaze of Queens taking home medalist honors.

The Cobras will now prepare for the South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Championship, which will take place Sunday, April 10 through Tuesday, April 12 in Monroe, N.C.
