Cobras Host Bears in Wednesday's Play for Kay Game

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball will host Lenoir-Rhyne in a pivotal South Atlantic Conference matchup on Wednesday (Feb. 10).

The Cobras last played on Saturday (Feb. 6) when they fell at home to No. 17 Anderson 76-46. Danielle Luczak had a team-high 11 points off the bench for the navy and gold.

The Cobras last faced the Bears on Jan. 20, with L-R coming away with a 58-52 victory. Kiara Shoats finished with a career-high 24 points, 13 of which came in the fourth quarter. She also pulled down five rebounds and dished out four assists. The duo of Kendra Lambert and Terrika Foster had eight points each, while Jazz Green scored six points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

The Bears come into the matchup with an 8-12 overall record and a 7-9 mark in SAC play, tied with Coker currently fighting for a SAC tournament berth. They are paced offensively by Jasmine Stafford who is averaging 11.1 points per game.

This will be Coker's fourth annual breast cancer awareness game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game. The Cobras will help raise funds for cancer research by donating $1 for every free throw made during the game. The Coker Student Athlete Advisory Committee will also be selling pink ribbons that will be placed on the Coker Wall of Honor.

Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
