HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's basketball team had its two-game home winning streak snapped, 70-56, by the Mars Hill University Lions on Saturday (Dec. 13) afternoon.

The Cobras trailed 30-26 at the end of the first half, but would battle back in the second half to tie the game at 47 with 7:32 left in the game. The Navy and Yellow would then go on a four-point run to take a 51-47 lead with 6:18 left on the clock. The game would be deadlocked once more at 53-all, but the Lions would use a 17-3 run over the final four minutes to secure a 70-56 victory.

Senior Tanesha Stenson's 19 points and 10 rebounds were good for her third double-double of the season, while classmate Kelley Godbout chipped in 16 points and four boards.

Coker will be back in action on Monday (Dec. 15), when they travel to Georgia to face the GRU Augusta Jaguars in a non-conference tilt. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. tip.
